Bad Experience of Keeping Hamsters

Assalamualaikum wr. wb. 

            What do you think about keep a hamster? Is it easy or difficult to do? Actually, I have bad experience of keeping hamsters. Around two years ago, I had several hamsters. Actually, I didn’t remember how many are them😅. They were very cute with their tiny body and soft fur. They had black, white, orange and grey fur color. “Look at them! How cute they are!” I always said that when I saw them eating. But it’s not going well. Some of them suddenly died. It left only two hamsters. I was so grateful because two of them were not died.

            One day, exactly in the afternoon I got one of them get out from its cage. I was panic and tried to caught it. It couldn’t be caught by myself. So I told my brother to helped me. Then, we’re looking for it around of our house. One, two, three, and then hours later we still had not found it yet. Because the day was becoming to the dark, I stop my seeking and intended to continued it next day.

            The night had passed. I did my routines activity like before. In the morning before I went to campus, I checked my only one hamster. “Oh no!” I was shocked, because the last hamster also get out from it’s cage. Immediately, I ask my brother about this. And then he checked the cage to know how it could get out from the cage. He showed me that the cage was bitten by the hamster. He said that the hamster bit the cage to made a hole, so it could get out of the cage. I feel so sad. My only one hamster had gone and maybe wouln’t be found again. Because the time was impossible to looked for the hamster, so I went to campus.

            Everytime if I had free time, I was taking time to looked for it. One day, suddenly I was surprised by the appearance of my hamster. It was coming to my house’s front yard. I was glad with it. Then I tried to step closer to my hamster. I didn’t realized that at the time there was a cat who looked at us. Unfortunately, I was late to realized the appearance of the cat. My hamster was caught by the cat before I caught it. I tried to chased the cat but poorly the cat ran faster and frisky than me. I couldn’t do anything else. Something that I could to do just let the cat go.

            This incident makes me affraid to keep hamster again. I regret that I can’t take care of them properly. If you wanna keep hamsters, you must sure that you can take care of them and take your time to play with them. Don’t let them be lonely. You must be able to take your time to check are they hungry and is the cage stay clean and strong. Because the if the hamster feel uncomfortable, it is one thing that causes the hamsters try to go out from the cage.
